"Although I was regularly working out at the gym my training had become boring and unproductive and I was struggling to achieve my fitness goals. I decided I wanted to try my hand at a Triathlon event, but realised I would need help to get fit enough, especially with my swimming. I approached Mike to see if he could help, after some discussion and assessment Mike devised a training plan which included some Swim Fit sessions to improve my swimming technique. All the hard work paid off and in May 2015 I completed my first Triathlon finishing 40th out of 357 competitors. I have been a personal trainer since 2009 and have trained a whole range of clientele including children, older adults, sports teams, pregnant ladies and anyone looking to improve their health & fitness within the local area of Tetbury and Malmesbury. I also welcome individuals referred by physiotherapists and doctors for a variety of different reasons.
I have developed my own training philosophies using the experience and scientific knowledge that I have built up over the years. The training techniques I implement use a variety of resistance equipment, own body weight actions, suspension training, accommodating resistance and cardio-vascular monitoring. Whatever your goal, be it: weight loss, strength, flexibility, endurance, increased lung capacity, vitality or function, I can help you to achieve it. I have a passion for exercise and inspiring others to push themselves to attaining their goals.
I graduated from the University of Bath in the summer of 2015 and then continued to pursue my career in personal training receiving my Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training in March.
I have always had an unyielding passion for functional training.The reason I am so passionate about functional training is primarily due to the benefits it can provide to your health and physical performance. Your body is designed to move and functional training drags you away from the conventional seated exercise and gets you exercising in a way that will improve your posture, muscle density and core strength more effectively. Not only this but I find an alternative style of training is far more enjoyable and can easily be attributed to an individual’s goals, whether that be sports specific, fat burning or improving flexibility and stability.
I am also fully qualified in the use of Kettlebells and am extremely enthusiastic to help people achieve their personal goals, whatever they may be.
I qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2015 after having worked as both a Gym and Swimming Instructor at Westonbirt Leisure for 4 years. I have a passion for fitness and wellbeing, with a particular interest in strength training and weightlifting.
